Bogor, January 7, 2025 – Universitas Djuanda (Unida) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this time by establishing a strategic partnership in the implementation of SDGs 3 which focuses on health and well-being. This partnership was carried out between Universitas Djuanda and the Clinic of Duta Medikatama Madany (DMM), which was stated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which took place on January 7, 2025. Although the initiation of this partnership has been carried out since a year ago, the signing of the MoU was only carried out on December 24, 2024 and today the exchange of MoU charters can only be carried out.
The MoU was signed by the Rector of Universitas Djuanda, Dr. Hj. R. Siti Pupu Fauziyah, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., and the Director of Duta Medikatama Madany Clinic, dr. Ferry Haki, M.Si. This collaboration aims to improve access to health services in the Universitas Djuanda campus environment, which is in line with the principles of SDGs 3 regarding health and welfare for the entire community, as well as supporting the campus' efforts in providing facilities that support a healthier and better quality of life for students, lecturers, and education staff.
Rector of Universitas Djuanda, Dr. Hj. R. Siti Pupu Fauziyah, said that this collaboration is part of Universitas Djuanda's commitment to improving the quality of sustainable education. "One of the main focuses of implementing SDGs in the campus environment is to ensure that every university community has access to quality health services, which will support the productivity and welfare of the entire academic community," said Dr. Siti Pupu Fauziyah. In addition, this collaboration is also in line with the achievement of SDGs 4 which prioritizes the quality of education, where health is an important supporting factor in an effective teaching and learning process. The presence of better health facilities on campus is expected to provide convenience and guarantee better access for students and academics.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Development, Dr. Yudi Wahyudin, S.Pi., M.Si., who also serves as the Daily Chair of the SDGs Center Network of Universitas Djuanda. On that occasion, Dr. Yudi Wahyudin also submitted the MoU charter as a sign of the start of collaboration between Universitas Djuanda and Duta Medikatama Madany Clinic in supporting the implementation of SDGs, especially SDGs 3, on campus and its surroundings. According to Dr. Yudi Wahyudin, this collaboration is expected to be a driving force to accelerate the implementation of SDGs at Universitas Djuanda. "Although the main focus of Universitas Djuanda is on achieving SDGs 1, 4, 5, 16, and 17, the implementation of SDGs 3 which focuses on health will support the implementation of SDGs 4 which is related to quality education, SDGs 16 on strong and equitable institutions, and SDGs 17 which encourages inclusive global cooperation. This collaboration will strengthen the university's foundation in realizing the SDGs vision as a whole," said Dr. Yudi.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Dede Kardaya, MS., as the Chair of the Academic Senate and Chair of the SDGs Center Network of Universitas Djuanda, also gave high appreciation for this activity. "We warmly welcome this collaborative activity. The year 2025 is expected to be the momentum for focusing on increasing the implementation of the SDGs Center Network which was inaugurated on August 15, 2024. We hope that the implementation of SDGs will be increasingly carried out at Universitas Djuanda by synchronizing programs, in addition to the five main focuses that have been set by the university," said Prof. Dede Kardaya.
Meanwhile, dr. Ferry Haki, M.Si., as the Director Duta Medikatama Madany Clinic stated that this collaboration is also a strategic step for us, Duta Medikatama Madany Clinic, to support Universitas Djuanda to strengthen campus institutions that are more competitive and sustainable, in accordance with the mandate of SDGs 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions. "With the signing of this MoU, it is hoped that Universitas Djuanda within supporting by Duta Medikatama Madany Clinic, can further improve the quality of health-based education services, as well as support the achievement of broader sustainable development goals at the local and national levels" said dr. Ferry Haki, M.Si.
