Bogor, March 21, 2025 – University of Djuanda (UNIDA), which was founded on March 21, 1987, celebrates its long journey which has now reached the age of 38 years. This journey is not just a number, but a journey of relentless dedication to educating and devout the Indonesian people. In the past three decades, UNIDA has grown and developed, not only as a higher education institution that focuses on science, but also as an institution that upholds spiritual values, especially in the context of tawheed.

History of University of Djuanda

Since it was first established in 1987, UNIDA has been committed to becoming a campus that not only focuses on science and technology, but also on developing the character and spirituality of students. Starting from a local college in Bogor, UNIDA then grew rapidly, facing the increasingly complex challenges of higher education both at the local and national levels, even internationally.

UNIDA's journey began with only a few study programs and a limited number of students, but with a big vision to contribute to the development of superior and characterful human resources, UNIDA continues to grow and develop into a leading university in Bogor. Initially, UNIDA focused more on local-based education, with a mission to provide access to quality education for the surrounding community. However, over time, its vision has become broader and oriented towards regional and national development, as well as internationally.

Improving academic quality, adequate infrastructure, and developing teaching capacity are the keys to UNIDA's success in entering the era of globalization. By utilizing developing technology and research, UNIDA now has more diverse study programs and a wide network in various fields of science.

Vision of University of Djuanda

Since the beginning, University of Djuanda has been committed to becoming a superior university that produces a generation of Indonesian people who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also strong in faith and devotion to Allah SWT. Therefore, the Vision of University of Djuanda is "Becoming an Excellent University to Educate the Life of the Nation that is United in Tawheed and of International Standard". This vision reflects UNIDA's commitment to becoming a higher education institution that not only excels in academic quality but also prioritizes the values ​​of monotheism as the basis for shaping the character of students and graduates. Through this approach, UNIDA hopes to produce a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also strong in faith and devotion to Allah SWT, who is ready to make a real contribution to the nation and the world. UNIDA also has a motto for the educational process, namely the process of "grasping the world, reaching the afterlife".

By carrying the theme "Campus Bertauhid", UNIDA instils 21 characters of monotheism which are the basis for the formation of students' personalities. Every aspect of education, both academic and non-academic, aims to form individuals who not only have professional competence, but also high moral and spiritual integrity. As a higher education institution that adheres to the principle of monotheism, UNIDA is committed to producing graduates who have broad insight, critical thinking, and uphold noble ethics and morals. Thus, UNIDA not only aims to develop intellectuality, but also to produce future leaders who are committed to building the nation with values ​​that are in accordance with the teachings of tawheed.

UNIDA's Role in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

As part of the world of education, Universitas Djuanda plays an active role in supporting the achievement of the SDGs, especially in terms of quality education (SDG 4), women's empowerment (SDG 5), and inclusive community development. In the context of SDG 1, UNIDA pays special attention to scholarships for students from underprivileged families, to ensure that quality education is accessible to all levels of society.

UNIDA's contribution to achieving SDG 4 includes continuing to develop various superior and quality study programs that meet international standards. On the other hand, to achieve SDG 5 (Gender Equality), UNIDA actively supports programs that encourage equal opportunities for women, even the leaders of the University (Rector, Vice Rector II and Vice Rector III) are women. Four female lecturers of University of Djuanda also appear to lead faculties within UNIDA as Deans. In terms of peace and justice (SDG 16), UNIDA through the law and social science and political science study programs develops research and community service activities that focus on strengthening a fair and transparent legal system, good governance, and outreach on human rights in society. To achieve SDG 17, UNIDA continues to network and is committed to continuing to collaborate with national and international partners in order to strengthen institutions in order to be able to contribute more to achieving sustainable goals.
